Upon finishing my degree in Games Programming I joined Jagex Games Studio (most commonly known for their MMO RuneScape) and made my way into their quality assurance teams, a common stepping stone for anyone looking to break into the games industry. As seen from the pages of this website I have an overwhelming passion for video games, particularly in regards to critiquing and playing them to an obsessive level. It's no surprise then that this career choice fits me like a glove and to date I've had a fantastic time working in my various roles within QA alongside extremely talented individuals on a range of projects.
Jagex, May 2010 - Current
After several fantastic years within the RuneScape department I felt it was time for a change and decided to take an opportunity on the studios upcoming title 8Realms. 8Realms is a real time strategy game that was designed with cross platform play in mind, intending to be playable on any device by remaining free of platform dependencies typically found with competing games (such as flash or bespoke plugins).

It is within the 8Realms QA team that I have been given the opportunity of fulfilling the team leader position, replacing my priority of testing the game with managing and support the team of testers instead.

The highlight of my time in the RuneScape QA team was working as the project lead on 'Dungeons of Daemonheim', a RuneScape expansion and the largest addition to the game to date adding a colossus new skill that brought the raid mechanic to RuneScape with randomly generated dungeons and finely balanced boss encounters. This includes several post launch additions such as new boss encounters and various improvements.

Outside of managing and testing of the project I also got the opportunity to put myself into the game with some voice acting for several of the bosses and the chance to discuss the development on stage to fans at RuneFest in 2010.

Jagex, November 2007 - June 2009
My first steps into games testing were in the RuneScape team as a standard games tester working my way up to a senior tester over the years working on a multitude of projects covering the entirety of the game. This includes the headline updates for 2009 (Summoning skill) and 2010 (Mobilising Armies minigame), along with some of the most anticipated quests such as the Fairy Tale and Myreque series as well as core gameplay reworks and additions.
